October 9 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

The horrific shooting in Las Vegas forces us as a nation to decide: Will we accept the status quo and allow mass shootings and gun homicides to be the backdrop to our daily lives? Or do we want to live in a country where we can go to the movies or a concert or school or work or church and be safe from gun violence?
We choose to honor the victims and survivors in Las Vegas by demanding that our elected officials reject the NRA leadership’s extreme agenda for more guns for more people in more places.
Join us on Monday 10/9 at 4:30pm at Federal Plaza for a rally and to hear guest speakers and performers who are on the forefront of the gun violence prevention movement.

PURPOSE: What do we stand for? We join together as a movement of moms, dads, families, friends, and concerned citizens who want an end to gun violence. Americans shouldn’t have to worry about being shot at concerts, movie theaters, churches, nightclubs, elementary schools, and universities. The fact is it’s far too easy for dangerous people to get their hands on guns in this country, and lots of them.
Do we want to live in a country where the NRA leadership’s “guns everywhere, for anyone, with no questions asked” vision prevails? Or do we want to live in a country where we feel safe in our daily lives and our children don’t have to regularly practice active shooter drills? We fight, together, for commonsense gun laws that will protect all Americans.
This rally calls upon our elected representatives to reject the NRA. What does that mean? 1) Publicly reject the money donated to them from the gun lobby, 2) listen to the voices of their constituents instead of the gun manufacturers, and 3) vote for common sense gun laws that will put the emphasis back on the “well-regulated” portion of the Second Amendment.
We call upon all moms, dads, parent groups, parent teacher organizations, and progressives to join us to stand up against gun violence, across the country and right here in Chicago. It is our one job as parents to keep ALL kids safe. #OurOneJob
