Postcards 4 Choice
June 10 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Come help us write postcards of love and solidarity to clinics here in the Midwest! Whether it was for birth control, that fun annual pap, STD testing and treatment, or yes, an abortion (that’s 25% percent of us!) clinics have been there for us – so it’s time for us to be there for them.
We will also discuss the important role clinics play in many different communities with a panel of people directly involved in clinic services. They’ll lead us in a conversation about how our support of clinics can be truly intersectional, and what we can do to help defend them. We have a great comedian on board to MC, so it promises to be educational, thoughtful, and entertaining! Plus, we’ll have food and drink available to fuel your postcard writing!
But wait, there’s more! As a bonus, we’ll be raising money for our good friends at the Midwest Access Coalition, which helps women traveling to, from, and within the Midwest access a safe, legal abortion. We’ll have a raffle with great items – and all the money raised will go right to the MAC! Tickets are $15 before the event, and $20 at the door.
Can you help us out? purchasing a pack of stamps or postcards below will help us with supplies for the event!
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
There is not! We will trust your judgement in bringing kids – it’s not the most age appropriate event for small kids, but we will leave that up to you.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Elastic Arts is right near the Logan Square Blue Line, and right off the Milwaukee bus. You also may be able to find parking on Diversity or Milwaukee.
What can I bring into the event?
Yourself! If you want to participate in the raffle, we would prefer if you brought cash to that, but we will be able to take credit card purchases for raffle tickets as well. Also, if you have some stamps laying around that you could donate, that would be amazing.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Please reach out to logansolsun at gmail.com
What’s the refund policy?
We are raising money for the Midwest Access Coalition – so we aren’t offering refunds. However, if you buy a ticket and can’t make it, you can let us know and we’ll offer it to someone who maybe can’t otherwise afford to attend.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
We would prefer that you do so.
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
It is! If you can’t make it and want to give your ticket to someone else, that’s fine. Just give them your printed ticket.
