The Girl Talk: Epic Birthday Rager Edition at the Hideout
Friday 4/13/18 9pm | $10* https://ticketf.ly/2q4fO7N
For two years, The Girl Talk has been bringing you shows highlighting incredible Chicagoans fighting for social justice: from last month’s show on disability rights and access to our post-election show on getting more women to run for office.
We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve shamed many-a-douchebag. On April 13, we will sing, dance and celebrate the incredible community that The Girl Talk has become.
Thanks to you, we have raised thousands of dollars for dozens of local organizations. We’ve brought attention to issues facing our city and state. We’ve learned so f—ing much.
So, we’re having a big ass party to celebrate and come together.
Poetry from Chicago Public School Louder Than A Bomb: The Chicago Youth Poetry Festival poets!
Comedy by the hilarious and amazing Tribble
Feminist Karaoke brought to you by Karaoke Queen Stacia King
followed by an EPIC DANCE PARTY featuring your favorite lady jams
Plus: Limited-edition Girl Talk posters by the incredible Shelby Rodeffer (shelbyrodeffer.com) printed by Elizabeth Kovach of Salty Broad Press (saltybroadpress.com), special cocktails, a wig-filled photobooth run by Girl Talk Photo Goddess Linze Rice and more!
Come have a drink, sing your fave Alanis tune, pitch a future show and dance with us. We can’t wait to see you there!
What is The Girl Talk, you ask? It’s a monthly show on the fourth Tuesday of the month hosted by Block Club Chicago co-founder Jen Sabella and public education warrior/CPS teacher Erika Wozniak Francis and featuring influential Chicago women and gender nonconforming individuals fighting for social justice. All are welcome to take part in these important conversations. Our show is produced by media strategist/queen Joanna Klonsky.
The Hideout is wheelchair accessible and has accessible restrooms. To request any other reasonable accommodations, please contact Erika Wozniak at firstname.lastname@example.org.
* Proceeds from this month’s party will allow The Girl Talk to provide open captioning and transcripts of each show from here on out!
